The difference between blog and email marketing

The Difference Between Blog and Email Marketing

Blog and email marketing are two totally different things. They are two complete different ways to market something, whether it is a product, or a service. You are going to find that just because someone may use email marketing to make an income, does not mean that they always use blog marketing as well.

Blog marketing is when you use a blog to promote a service or a product. You can market the product or service so that it appeals to others, and is something that they might want or need. By using a blog you can get the word out about the product that you are using and let others know all about it. There are several ways to do this. It can be done as simple or as complicated as you want. For example, you can market your blog by exchanging links with other blogs that are relevant to yours. You can also leave comments on other blogs that will in return get you more visitors and readers to your own blog. Don’t forget to update your blog as often as possible as well. As that will make a huge impact on your blog.

Email marketing is when someone uses an email to get the word out about a product or s service. You simply would have your visitors to sign up for newsletters, and then send an email out to all of them that did so. However, you will also find that email marketing is great for many other things than just getting the word out. You can put affiliate links in your newsletters and hope that your readers will sign up under you and you will get a commission for those things.

Marketing in every way is pretty much the same. You have to know who your audience is and who wants what you are selling. Once you know this, the rest of it is cake. Whether you are email marketing, affiliate marketing, or email marketing. Even if you are into marketing offline, the same will apply. You will need to know who wants what you have to sell and you should have no problems selling it.

Blog and email marketing are alike in many ways, but yet also very different. When you are using a blog for marketing, you are going to see that you have to post what you are selling on the blog. But for email marketing, you can use an email to those interested parties. When you use a website to have people opt in to your newsletter for email marketing, you know that you are not sending spam, but something that they requested from your site. This is something that they asked to be sent when they sign up for a newsletter. Where as if you are marketing a blog, you would do this much the same way as you would a website, and get visitors to come to you.

Whichever you prefer, whether it is blog marketing or email marketing you can still get the results that you want and that you are looking for. Just know that it takes time and persistence to achieve what you want, and get it from marketing online. Patience is key to getting your blog out there to everyone that is interested in it.

Chronological vs. functional resumes which to choose

Your resume is a marketing tool that should effectively sell your skills, experience, and educational qualifications to prospective employers. When developing your resume, there are two different types of resume formats you should consider: a chronological resume and a functional resume. Your decision to choose one format over another should be dependent on your career background and personal circumstances. The ultimate decision will be based on that format that allows you to most effectively present your qualifications.

Chronological Resumes

Q. What is a chronological resume?

A. In a chronological resume format, your employment experience history is organized in reverse chronological order so that your most recent job position is listed first. This type of format emphasizes your job titles and employers, as well as your dates of employment with each employer. Your responsibilities and accomplishments should be described in detail for each individual position.

Q. What are the advantages to using a chronological resume?

A. Chronological resumes are easy to read, use a logical flow, and can effectively highlight career growth. Since this type of resume emphasizes the details of each position, using a chronological resume will draw attention to impressive titles and prestigious employers.

Q. What are the disadvantages to using a chronological resume?

A. Because of the format of a chronological resumes, this style easily undercover gaps in your employment history and frequent job changes. It also draws attention to the fact that you may be relative experienced in the workforce or in a particular career.

Q. What types of candidates should choose to use a chronological resume?

A. Chronological resumes are best suited for those individuals whose job history reflects steady career growth, those who are remaining in the same field, and those whose career goals are clearly defined and in alignment with their work history. This type of resume is also suitable for candidates who have prior employment with a prestigious employer that they want to highlight.

Functional Resumes

Q. What is a functional resume?

A. Functional resumes have often been referred to as problem solving resumes in that they allow you to organize your resume by functional skills as opposed to purely chronological order. This allows individuals to make sense of their work history by matching up skills and accomplishments from different jobs that might otherwise be overlooked by an employer in a more traditional chronological formatted resume. The goal is to highlight specific key qualifications which have been demonstrated through a variety of work-related achievements. As opposed to a chronological resume, skills do not have to be presented in the order of accomplished in a functional resume, but instead may be presented in order of importance and relevance to the job for which you are applying.

Q. What are the advantages to using a functional resume?

A. Using a functional resume keeps the emphasis on key relevant skills you possess that make you a good fit for a position. It allows candidates to align accomplishments from several different positions for a more powerful impact, since these skills might otherwise be lot in the shuffle in a traditional resume. Functional resumes also minimize the impact of inexperience in the workforce or field, frequent job changes, and any gaps in your employment history.

Q. What are the disadvantages to using a functional resume?

A. The presence of a clear career progression can easily be lost in a functional resume, as can extended experience in your targeted industry or field. Impressive employers or job titles are de-emphasized, which is a disadvantage if these are strong selling points in your experience. Additionally, some recruiters and managers dislike functional resumes due to their perceived lack of logical flow.

Q. What types of candidates should choose to use a functional resume?

A. A functional resume is a solid option for individuals who are looking to change careers, returning to the job market after a long absence, trying to minimize fair-to-average career growth. This format is also appropriate for new graduates, candidates with limited work experience, and individuals whose work history is a mixed bag of unrelated experience.

How to select the best sleep apnea treatment

With so many choices, it may seem very difficult to select a sleep apnea treatment that actually works. Any individual who has been diagnosed with sleep apnea is in need of a prompt remedy. If this condition is ignored, it may lead to heart disease, a stroke or other serious medical problem.

In order to select the best sleep apnea treatment, you must consider whether or not the procedure is safe. What type of product warning does it have? If you are looking for an anti-snoring device, you should look for one that has been medically tested and doctor recommended. One such product is, for instance, called the Sleep Genie. While supporting the jaw, it helps the mouth to remain closed using a comfortable nylon lycra blend. It is important to understand that the Sleep Genie is not intended to be a cure for sleep apnea, but rather a product that can work to improve sleep quality. In addition, apnea sufferers who use the Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine may benefit from the added use of the Sleep Genie, which helps to keep the mouth closed. Users of the CPAP machine need to sleep with their mouth closed in order to keep the air, provided by the machine, from escaping during sleep.

Other natural sleep apnea treatment methods include the removal of household allergens with the help of air filtration devices, sleeping on your side instead of your back, giving up cigarettes and/or alcohol and paying close attention to your diet. Obesity is one of the leading causes of snoring, which is a direct sign of sleep apnea. Therefore, if you are overweight or have been diagnosed as being obese, it may be time to consider a medically supervised diet and exercise program. In addition to being a good sleep apnea treatment, losing weight will help to improve your overall health.

It is important to realize the difference between sleep apnea and just plain snoring. Snoring is random and does not cause additional problems, other than sleep disruption, for the sufferer. Sleep apnea, however, is diagnosed when the sufferer snores heavily and stops breathing completely on more than one occasion during the night. Because the latter is of major concern to physicians, it should be treated with an effective sleep apnea treatment as quickly as possible. Sufferers who are looking for a good sleep apnea treatment should select one that works quickly in order to get instant results and relief.

This article is intended for informational purposes only. It should not be used as, or in place of, professional medical advice. Before beginning any treatment for snoring, please consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis and remedy.

What does a termite look like

What Does a Termite Look Like?

People who own homes, building, or grow crops often ask themselves the question “What does a termite look like?” The reason is simple – know what a termite looks like can alert the homeowner or farmer to possible property damage that is caused by these tiny little pests. Most people say that a termite looks like a little white ant, but the reality is that because there is a hierarchy within these very social insects, depending on what job the termite does within the colony.

So what does a termite look like? The worker termites most closely resemble small white ants. They are responsible for foraging for food that will sustain the colony. They are white and soft bodied and smaller in size – just like an ant. Soldier termites are responsible for defending the colony against predators, so they will look a lot like the worker termites except they have a larger head with mandibles that are used for defense.

Reproductive termites are winged insects that are larger than the workers and soldiers and tend to swarm during certain times of the year. They are also white and soft bodied, but they are easily identified by the presence of wings on their bodies. These termites are responsible for laying eggs and insuring the continuation of the colony. They can lay thousands of eggs at a time so termite colonies can grow quite quickly and take over a small space within a matter of days.

When asking what does a termite look like, you need to also know how to identify the king and queen of the colony. They are the ones who “rule” the colony and are responsible for insuring all members are doing their jobs and taking care of the colony itself. The queen termite is the largest termite in the colony. She has an elongated body that is usually lighter in color. The king termite is smaller than the queen and his elongated body is darker in color.

Termite colonies live in large mounds some as tall as four feet! That is where they live. The worker termites go out and find food – usually in the form of damp wood, leaf debris, and loose cellulite matter. The workers then bring food back to the termite mound where members feed on the matter.

Asking yourself “What does a termite look like?” is a responsible thing to do when you own property. Identification of termites and termite damage is so important because once you find them, you can begin treating the damaged areas. The sooner you find the damage, the easier it is to control. Plus, now when someone asks you “What does a termite look like?” now you can speak with authority!

When you need an expert laser hair removal

When it comes to laser hair removal, many times the answer you receive to questions you ask bears little resemblance to fact. The Toronto Laser Hair Removal Experts provide comprehensive answers to common laser hair removal questions.

A unique hybrid of spa and cosmetic treatment center is becoming increasingly common. Sadly there are locations that do not conform to acceptable standard of practice and ethics. Arming yourself with answers to some important questions is a strong first step in unmasking clinics to avoid.

For instance, according to the Toronto Laser Hair Removal Experts at www. laser-hair-removal-tornoto. org laser hair removal treatment should always be performed by a licensed physical or laser doctor. Some facilities bypass this mandate. It’s also true that some clinics will guarantee complete and permanent hair removal. The truth is, multiple sessions may be required to arrest the continued growth of hair in the targeted area. The methods of therapy can never be a one time solution because hair grows at different rates which is why 5-7 sessions are typically required to treat the majority of hair regrowth.

Toronto Laser Hair Removal Experts pride themselves on the information they provide and stand ready to answer your questions by providing a variety of online resources that assist you in making an informed choice when exploring the possibilities associated with laser hair removal.

When you visit www. laser-hair-removal-tornoto. org you will find a FAQ section along with a section for both related publications and personal consultation.

One of the most common frustrations for those who are assisting patients with quality laser hair removal is there are those who would seek to convince you that they are providing the same services, but may be utilizing Radio-Frequency Devices (RF) or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). These methods cannot provide true laser hair removal - primarily because they are not lasers.

When visiting with a potential laser hair removal provider you are encouraged to ask what type of equipment they utilize. The two approved lasers are the ND-Yad laser (primarily used with darker skin types) and the Alexandrite Laser (primarily used in lighter skin types). Both of the above mentioned laser hair removal systems are considered highly effective and are the current standard for this type of cosmetic procedure.

One of the more fascinating parts of the Toronto Laser Hair Removal website is the quick link section providing the latest news in laser hair removal. This section provides further evidence that the goal of this site is simply to provide the information needed to make an informed choice.

The site editor is John Keller M. D. Ph. D. who is a board certified laser physician who operates a laser and vein clinic in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A site linked Doctor’s Blog allows further information to be gathered while adding a strong human touch to www. laser-hair-removal-toronto. com

The experts at Toronto Laser Hair Removal Experts insist that you feel confident and comfortable with your choice in a laser hair removal expert. Some of the questions they suggest asking include whether or not you will be able to see an actual physician during your consultation. They also recommend discovering the total number of laser hair removal procedures the clinic does each year. You should also seek to determine if a physician will be performing the procedure or if a physician will be in the room supervising your treatment.

Should you be considering laser hair removal, you will find many of the most common questions answered at www. laser-hair-removal-toronto. com This site provides knowledgeable, straightforward answers for a treatment that has held promise for many, but has been routinely abused by ill-equipped providers.

What should you look for in an auto insurance company

:
What is a car insurance? What will an auto insurance cover?

Auto insurance companies cover you and your passengers in the event of an accident. But it is up to you to decide the level of cover you will get.
Will the damages to your property be covered by the company? Will all the passengers be covered or only your family? What if your daughter was driving your car?

What questions should you ask your auto insurance company when it comes to auto insurance? This article help you choose between the various insurance policies.

Types of auto insurance

Liability insurance, or third party insurance.

This is general the lowest form of insurance offered by an auto insurance company. This is the basic insurance, if you are involved in an accident, and it is proven to be your fault, the auto insurance company will pay damages to the other party.

The cover offered by the auto insurance company is usually set beforehand. These are the maximum amount the auto insurance company will pay in case of accident
For example the agent will agree on a $10000 coverage per person, (bodily injury) and/or $40000 coverage in bodily injury and/or $10000 in property damage per accident
You need to confirm with your auto insurance company what they will cover and what are the limits.
You might be offered a very low premium by some auto insurance company only to realize that your cover is minimal and unrealistic.

Collision and comprehensive coverage, comprehensive insurance and full comprehensive insurance

An auto insurance company will also offer you a comprehensive insurance, as the name indicates, you will be comprehensively covered.
In simple terms it means that if you are responsible for a collision the insurance company will pay for the repair of the vehicle.
But it is not so simple, an auto insurance company will almost always have the final say on what amount will be paid out, so if it is cheaper to give you market value for the car, then they will.
You might think that your car is worth $1000.00 but the real market value might be $500.00. This is not an uncommon scenario. So if the repair of your car are more than $500.00 then the auto insurance company will simply pay the book value of the car.
You must make sure that the insurance company is not in control of the market value of the car, normally organisations like the AA will give an impartial market value.

As with the third party insurance, the auto insurance company will almost certainly limit the amount that will be paid out, but in general terms, a comprehensive insurance will have higher limits.

Recreation Vehicle

A recreation vehicle needs its own insurance, a Recreation vehicle insurance, (http://www. insurance-owl. com/other/car_rec. php), is not the same as auto insurance.
You should not assume that because your car is comprehensively insured, so is your recreation vehicle.

Other Types of auto insurance

Medical (MedPay), Persona Injury protection (PIP) and no fault cover

This insurance will cover you and your passengers medical expenses in the event of a collision.
The no fault cover means that the auto insurance company will pay regardless of who is at fault. This give you the piece of mind that, at the very least, your family and friends are covered.
PIP is often a minimum requirement in some countries or states, ask your auto insurance company what the requirements are.

Uninsured/Underinsured motorists' coverage

This cover, (also sometimes a minimum requirement in some states), will cover you if the person at fault is not insured or is underinsured.
You must ask your auto insurance company what you will be charged in case of such a situation. Normally the auto insurance company should not charge you some extra premiums.

Rental reimbursement, towing and labour

Those 'extras' often given with a comprehensive insurance is often use by auto insurance companies as specials.
So in case your car is damaged the auto insurance company will pay for rental costs, (sometimes only for a few days).
The auto insurance company might also offer to pay for the towing of your vehicle, (not always included).

As always you should ask your auto insurance company what is included in the cover.
The legal requirements.

Most states, and most countries will require a certain level of cover, from full comprehensive car insurance to third party auto insurance.
In most cases it is up to you, the driver, to ensure that your auto insurance company offers you the minimum required. In most cases the insurance company, (the auto insurance company), is under no obligation to instruct you of the requirements.
But of course, a good auto insurance company will, (should?), try its outmost to advise you on the best deal for you.

Cooking for the day of the dead

Cooking for the Day of the Dead

The Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos is an important holiday in Mexican culture in which the departed adults that have gone on to the afterlife once again walk the earth for a night. It is an opportunity to honor those who have left us behind and a very healthy approach to death that many other cultures would do well to adopt. This is a family event and as such there is typically a good deal of great food involved.

If this is your first celebration of the Day of the Dead you are not alone. Most Americans never adopt this custom and those that are interested enough to try out some of the cuisine of this important day in Mexican society are very rarely versed in the tradition, which makes it difficult.

Sugar skulls are a very important part of the Day of the dead festivities and can be decorated quite elaborately by skilled artisans. If this is a tradition you'd like to explore there are many recipes for the mixture as well as forms for the skulls that can be found online. It is a fun art project that takes place in the kitchen for kids and grown-ups alike that also happens to provide a somewhat unique peek at another culture. The painting of the skulls can be very simplistic or as elaborate as you wish to make it. You should note that days when it is either raining or very humid are not good days for trying to make the sugar skulls so plan ahead and pay attention to the weather reports.

Pan de Muerto is a staple for cooking on the day of the dead. It has become known as day of the dead bread. There are many recipes ranging from simple in nature to extremely complex. They are all somewhat different and you may need to try a few before you find that one you like best. The best solution is probably to taste several different varieties and request the recipe for the one you prefer if you know the person who did the baking.

Beef tamales are another excellent food for the day of the dead. They are also great to make ahead of time and freeze so that there is little actual prep work to be done on this day. You can also make tamales with the help of your little ones if you are so inclined. It makes them feel important and allows them to be big kids and big helps in the kitchen. Not only that, but when all is said and done they will appreciate the tamales that their efforts produced even more than if they had taken no part in the preparation.

Another great tradition is to serve foods that the departed family members considered favorites. This means that you may have quite a variety of foods on the table, depending on how large the family was and how many family members are dead. This is a tradition that was Indian in origin and is more strongly observed in areas that have the largest Indian population within Mexico and in some southwestern states within the United States. If you are looking to add a little excitement to your cooking feel free to do a little cooking for the Day of the Dead next time it comes around.

5 ways to save money on your car s gasoline

With gasoline prices steadily on the rise, many commuters are finding it more and more difficult to justify spending their hard earned money on the high cost of fuel rather than other necessities, including food and electricity. With that in mind, there are five simple steps that you can take to help stretch your dollar a little bit farther when it comes to your car’s fuel consumption.

Carpool. If you have children who are in school, consider sharing the driving responsibility with other mothers that live nearby. This is especially helpful if you can alternate days. Perhaps you would drive the children on Monday and Wednesday, while the other women fill in on the rest of the weekdays. This will save you money on gasoline and will also make the children’s ride to school a lot of fun because they will be riding with friends. The same is true of commuters on their way to work, who can share in the responsibility and costs of driving amongst one another.

Buy a smaller car. If you own an SUV or other large vehicle, your gas mileage per gallon will be less than if you were to own a smaller car. As a general rule, larger vehicles just normally use more gasoline. If you want to save money on the cost of fuel, buying a smaller car is a good start.

Purchase a hybrid car. These cars are fairly new on the market and are still quite expensive, but many find the benefits outweigh the high cost when they figure in their savings on fuel. Hybrid cars usually get better gas mileage per gallon and this results in big savings for the owner.

Turn off the ignition. If you are stuck in traffic that is moving about an inch per minute, then just put the car in park and turn the ignition off. While sitting in traffic, you are just using more and more gasoline and aren’t really getting anywhere. Rather than waste, try to save money by not leaving your car running in parking lots or your driveway. If you need to stop by the store and will just be gone for a minute, take the time to turn the ignition off. In addition to saving on gasoline, you will be ensuring that your car isn’t stolen by turning off the ignition and taking your keys inside the store with you. Many people would be surprised to know how many shoppers actually leave their car running while in the store.

Walk. If you live near a store, walk instead of driving. This will save not only in the price of your car’s gasoline, but also in the general everyday wear and tear that your car receives by being out on the road. No to mention, walking is good exercise and is generally safe for most people. So why not walk off some of those pesky winter pounds and save some money on gasoline in the process.

The aforementioned ways are five of the most popular to help you save some extra money where fuel is concerned. Some of the more obvious ways are to stock up when gasoline is decreasing in price. If you get $10 or $15 worth of gasoline every few days, you may get a good price one day and a terrible cost per gallon during the next trip. However, if you fill up your car’s gasoline tank while prices are still low, you will be sure to get the best deal possible. Not only that, but you may also end up saving some time at the gas pump when all of the other consumers are waiting in line to fill up before the prices go even higher.

Lasagne the real italian dish

Do you think of lasagne as a sublime gourmet sensation or a stodgy school food staple?

In Tuscany I've tasted exquisite layers of meltingly tender, fresh pasta fusing into a poem with creamy bйchamel and a sparing distribution of rich ragщ. This traditional meat sauce of central and northern Italy is made with finely minced beef and chicken livers or pancetta and simmered gently for hours until the flavours mellow. In spring the delicate pasta sheets have been layered with tender artichoke hearts, bйchamel and ham, a marriage of delicate flavours to delight the most gourmet palate.

Lasagna (having replaced its plural e with a singular a) is however a dish that has left home and travelled the world. It has made it into the mainstream of microwave meals, supermarket suppers and been massacred in the process. Thick, stodgy sheets of pasta sandwich oozing quantities of sauce and bear little resemblance to their Italian forbears.

To taste the real Italian lasagne that I'm describing, you must take a gourmet trip to Italy, visit the hills of Tuscany or Emilia Romagna with its rich, butter-based cuisine and multitude of fine restaurants. In Ferrara, Bologna or Parma or any other of its beautiful cities, you will be able to appreciate the delicacy of flavour, the melting texture with which genuine Italian lasagne can delight the palate.

Here the lasagne is only a part of a leisurely meal. In autumn you might have started with an antipasto of Parma ham and ripe figs, tasted some fettuccini with truffles, then sampled the lasagne, leaving enough room for your main course of a bistecca ai funghi porcini, steak with fresh porcini mushrooms harvested from the wooded hills around you.

Lasagne is a dish designed for feasting - to make it properly is time consuming: rolling out your own freshly made pasta to make sheets that are thin enough not to be stodgy, boiling it briefly a few sheets at a time; making fresh meat sauce and allowing it three or four hours to simmer unhurriedly; stirring a bйchamel sauce carefully so it doesn't burn; lastly assembling all the different components and layering them, judiciously spreading just the right amount of sauce for the pasta to absorb and have a bit left over; adding in freshly grated parmesan to get the balance of flavours just so; baking it all in the oven for just the right amount of time for the flavours to meld into a divine whole. It is a labour of love made at home for special occasions or ordered in a restaurant where you know they do it well.

If you want to try your hand at making an authentic lasagne from Emilia Romagna, seek guidance from Marcella Hazan. Her cook books are the best I know to help you reproduce the flavours of Northern Italy at home. I confess to not having the patience for making my own fresh pasta and so do without lasagne altogether at home. I'm just waiting for an opportunity to get back to Italy so that I can indulge in a gourmet holiday, feasting on lasagne, porcini mushrooms and truffles!

Namdapha national park

Namdapha National Park

Namdapha National Park in India is now a protected area, having been declared in 1983 Namdapha National Park under Wildlife (Protection) Act. The same year, it was also declared as a Tiger Reserve under project tiger. With a total area of 1,985-sq-kms, this is the largest national park in the Northeast and one of the larger protected areas in the country.

About 150 species of trees have been identified which include Dipterocarps like the Hollong growing up to 50 metres. The floral species' richness and composition are very impressive indeed and show density, variation and endemicity, which may have few parallels. This includes a rich gene pool of indigenous crop plants along with their wild relatives and ecological variants such as the wild banana, citrus and mango. A formidable list of medicinal and ornamental plants including the wild orchids can be also be made.

Of a total of 135 kind of land mammals found in India, as many as 75 kind are represented in Namdapha which no other reserve in the country can match. Perhaps the richest assemblage is in the order carnivora with 22 kinds identified in Namdapha and it is surely the only protected area in the world having four big Cats - Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and Clouded Leopard.

In herbivores also, the variety is amazing considering that apart from several Deer species, Namdapha is home to the bison as much as to the Himalayan Tahr and the Bharal. Besides, it has all the three Goat Antelopes found in India - Goral, Serow and Takin.

Amongst primates, it is the habitat of the rare and endangered Hoolock Gibbon, the only Ape species found in India. The different species of flying squirrels include one that is endemic which has been named as the Namdapha Flying Squirrel. This is a must-see stop on any tour of India.

Things to think about when taking a loan over a longer term

If you need to raise a considerable sum of money, say over Ј25,000, then the most likely option offered to you will be a secured loan or some other kind of financial package based upon securing the loan against some form of collateral you have, such as your home. In addition to a secured loan, other solutions can include refinancing your mortgage or releasing some of the equity in your property (home equity release). Therefore, if you’re looking for a loan over 10 to 15 years, or even longer, you’re only likely to get one if you are a homeowner or have some other considerable asset to secure the loan against.

Other things to consider should include determining the reason for this kind of loan in the first place. It doesn’t make sense to take out a loan over a lengthy period of over 10 years if the overall cost of the loan isn’t likely to increase the value of what you already have so you should never look for a loan of this length for ‘pleasure’ purchases. These would include things like holidays, entertainment or furniture etc. These items only depreciate in value quickly and no-one would choose to still be paying for a luxury cruise, for example, ten years after they’ve taken the trip.

Suitable uses for the loan might include home improvements, if the improvements are likely to increase the value of your property over the long-term. Alternatively, a loan of this length might be needed to increase the amount of business you can generate if, for example, you are self-employed and providing you are confident that your business has solid long-term prospects but you need the finance to expand the operations.

Other factors when considering a long-term loan is to try and apply for one when the trend in interest rates is generally low and likely to remain low or relatively stable. You may also need to consider a variable or tracker rate loan to take into account fluctuations in interest rates. One of your major considerations, however, should be to ask yourself if your financial position is stable and likely to remain so or only improve over the term of the loan. If you can’t be positive about that, then a long-term loan might only present trouble in the long run.

Also, you should only borrow the amount you need. It makes no sense to take out, say, an additional Ј5000 on top of a Ј30000 loan if you don’t need it. Borrow just the amount that’s required and no more.

A reputable independent broker will help you consider all these issues and determine the best way forward for you and their advice is free.

Student loans guide and advice

If you are about to start University, then it pays to know about the student loan process. Most students take out some form of student loan during their study to help them pay for their fees and living expenses. If you are unsure about how student loans work, then this guide will be able to help you.

How are loans paid?

Student loans are paid in three instalments each year, usually once each term. The first payment is usually made by cheque, and then after that payments will go straight into your bank account.

How much can I receive?

The amount you will receive depends on where in the country you are going to attend University, as well as the financial status of you and your family. You can opt to get a fixed amount per year, or you can be income assessed and the maximum amount you can receive will be determined. You can take as little or as much of this amount as you want. On average the amount you can receive ranges from Ј1,500 to Ј4,500 each year, depending on your financial status.

How do I pay back the loan?

After you have finished University, you will begin paying back the loan. Repayments will start from the April after you graduate, although you only need to repay money after you start earning above Ј15,000 per year, calculated on a monthly basis. The amount you pay back will be taken out of your wages just like tax, at a sliding rate. You can also pay back more than this if you wish, by sending money to the appropriate authority.

What is the interest?

The interest on student loans is subsidised by the Government, and so you only pay back the same amount that you borrowed, adjusted for inflation. However long it takes you to pay back the loan, you will only pay back the same amount in real terms that you borrowed.

What are the advantages of taking out a loan?

The advantages of taking out a loan are that you have money in order to pay for your living costs whilst at University, meaning that you can concentrate on your studies rather than having to work to earn money. This will help you to achieve better grades and give you more free time. Also, taking out an interest free loan is better than getting into debt on high interest credit cards. These debts are more serious and have to be paid back or they will keep increasing.

Are there any disadvantages?

Obviously, the major disadvantage of taking out student loans is that you will come out of University with a large amount of debt. This can seem troubling at first, but you should remember that most students have the same problem, and because you are not paying interest the debt is not going to rise. You should think of the student loans as an investment in your future that will help you to achieve your career goals.

Finding a reputable mortgage broker

So, you're searching for a mortgage broker, but you aren't really sure where to start. Well, there are several different places that you can look to find a mortgage broker – the phone book, online, and through friends and family are all great places to look. But, how do you really know that they are a reputable mortgage broker or not? Here are some tips to help you weed out the good from the bad:

1. Compile a list. Gather up all the information on mortgage brokers that you have gotten so far, from friends and family, the phone book, or online, and place it all on a list. Make sure that you have the full name of the company, their phone number, and either their address or web address.

2. Do some homework. Now that you have your list, you need to go through each mortgage broker and search out all the information on them that you can find through the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office. You can do this either online or by phone. While you are looking through their information, here are some things that you need to look for: Has the company ever been involved in legal problems with the state or federal government? Are they a licensed mortgage broker in the United States, or are they overseas? How many complaints have been filed against the mortgage broker? If the company has several complaints or lawsuits filed against them either by the government or individuals, this should be a red flag and you should consider crossing them off your list. If the company is not a licensed mortgage broker, this is a huge red flag and you should drop them off your list immediately. If you come across any other issues that just don't set right with you, take that company off your list as well. You should feel completely safe with the company having your personal information and your money.

3. After you have narrowed your list down by doing a little background on each mortgage broker, you should have a few who are at the top of your list. Call these few and interview each one by asking some of these questions: How long have they been in business? What are their fees on mortgages and refinancing? What types of rates do they offer? And any other questions that you might need to know that pertain to your situation.

By finding out all the information that you can about the company before you sign with them, will help to ensure that you are choosing a reputable mortgage broker to handle your next mortgage.

Water and sunlight helps to clear acne

Drink More Water

The skin stores around 12% water. It is important to maintain this amount with the correct amount of good fat to keep your skin from getting acne. You need to drink around 2 quarts of distilled water every day. If you are not drinking this amount, just start increasing the amount that you do drink.

Drinking water helps you get rid of toxins in the blood and around your cells. By drinking water, you will urinate more and more toxins will be eliminated. You will sweat more and toxins will be eliminated.

The cleaner your blood the healthier your skin will be and your will not have a problem with acne.

Use glass containers when buying distilled or reverse osmosis water. Try to avoid using plastic containers for water since plastic containers contain chemicals, left in the container walls during manufacturing, which leaches out into the water.

If you are drinking fresh juices, you will also be getting water from these juices. Drinking sodas is not drinking water. If you are eating fresh vegetables you are getting distilled water. So the more fruits and vegetables you eat the less water you need to drink.

Here’s a few things you do to help you drink more water or to make the water healthier. Find a 16 or 32 oz glass container and add distilled water. Then add one of the following nutrients:

* A few drops of Alkalife. This solution changes the pH of the water from 7 to 8 and also activates the water with its electrolytes – sodium and potassium.

* Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water. Do not add sugar. A few drops of honey may be ok.

* Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water and add up to one teaspoon of powdered MSM. MSM is excellent for the skin disorders such as acne. It makes the skin cells more flexible, allowing more nutrients to go into and out of the cells, and its anti-inflammatory. MSM is also excellent in activating peristaltic action and will prevent constipation.

* Put 2 oz of mangosteen into the water. Mangosteen is an over all body tonic. It works on all parts of the body and will help keep you regular.

You can also choose to add your favorite nutritional flavor to give water an additional value.

Chose one of these natural additives for your water and drink this water little by little all day long. This is one more thing you can do to get rid of acne, improve your skin texture or to keep the nice skin you already have.

Get Some Sunshine

One more thing you can do for your skin is to get more natural light.

Expose your face to plenty of sun and air. This helps your skin to heal faster. But don’t purposely place your face in the sun, but remaining in the shade and open outdoors gives you plenty of sun and air.

At least 20 – 40 minutes a day in the outdoors is necessary for you to get sufficient vitamin D for you daily needs.

Control acne 03

ZAP that zit! Hey, remember all those crazy commercials back in the day that told us their products would do the unheard of? Yeah, we've all se them! The acne remedy ads were my all-time favorites. They must have gotten so many pimple-afflicted teenagers stoked about obliterating their skin condition. Only to soon discover that the zit miracle creams were bogus. Have you ever really encountered a Clearasil or Oxy product that eliminated blemishes on contact? The best commercial was the one with the teenage boy in his bedroom. He glanced in that mirror one morning and noticed several whoppers on his face. No fear; Oxy 10 is here. You simply squeeze out a bit on your fingertip and start dropping atomic bombs on those irksome pimples. With a cool sound effect, they disappear like that. Ha, yeah right! To really fight and control acne in the real world, it takes a tad more effort and time.

I would be fairly safe saying that acne is amongst the most hated skin afflictions. It's certainly one of the most prominent ones, if not the most. Once you hit those puberty years, all bets are off. The odds are not in your favor. Therefore you'd better be prepared for some all-out zit wars. Blame the teenage hormones! Anyway, there are effective ways to control acne. All you need is the right input. I can't emphasize enough how important your diet is. If you consume junk food regularly, it's time to stop. It takes a toll on the pores since it's excreted through them. Plus, loads of fat and sugar are terrible for your health. Get started with a healthy and well-balanced diet while you're still young. I guarantee you'll be glad you did later down the road. You can also control acne with the right skin care system. These usually consist of a few different products. A cleanser is mandatory. Find one that gentle cleanses your skin, so that you will be less prone to an over-dried complexion. You'll also require a topical medication of some sort. There are infinite acne remedies currently available, but that doesn't mean they're all good. Check into Proactive Solution or a prescription for Differin from your family doctor. These two have a great track record.

There are always little things you can do for your skin and help control acne. One of them is drink lots and lots of water; another is getting plenty of sleep. Moreover, you can even take tepid showers to avoid over-drying your skin. Every bit helps.

Managing postpartum depression through medications and therapy

Most new mothers are now showing some form of depression after birth. Usually, postpartum depression is not thoroughly discussed in childbirth classes where new mothers enroll for motherhood education. Such classes are only limited to the discussion of the mother's physical recovery and taking care of the baby. Due to the lack of information, many new mothers do not have an idea and are not prepared for postpartum depression, which can feel like an emotional roller coaster. By being aware of the range of depression disorders that may arise during post-pregnancy, new mothers can better prepare for the overflow of emotions and, in the process, help their families cope with the challenges of childbirth-related emotional changes.

According to statistics, 80 percent of new mothers tend to have “postpartum blues.” The symptoms often start two days after giving birth as the hormones of pregnancy suddenly starts to fluctuate and adjust to meet the new baby's constant demands. These mothers will experience extreme mood swings, and can manage these by self realization that these emotions are just based on hormonal shifts and fatigue. The best coping strategy for mothers use in dealing with postpartum blues is to have ample rest. These mothers need sleep for both physical and mental recovery. Adding to this, mothers should have a nutritious and balanced diet, plenty of fluids, and enough light daily exercise. By registering and joining new mother support groups, mothers can find great ways to share experiences and find mutual support with others who have postpartum blues. Most mothers with postpartum blues do not need medication, but can get relief from other forms of therapy such as acupuncture. Such condition generally resolves the emotional condition in about two to three weeks after birth.

Some women can develop postpartum anxiety disorders such as GAD (generalized anxiety disorder), OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), and panic disorders. Mothers experience excessive worry or anxiety, repetitive compulsions, or extreme anxiety with chest pains, dizziness, sweating, and many other symptoms when dealing with disorders named above. Women dealing with these disorders would frequently have attacks early in the morning with chest and stomach pain, followed by emotions of concern and despair for the baby. Together with good eating habits, rest and exercise, mothers could also go for relaxation exercises, support groups, counseling, and use of anti-depressants.

When dealing with postpartum psychosis, one should be able to distinguish signs of depression from other more symptoms of anxiety disorders. A mother experiencing postpartum psychosis would have hallucinations or delusions. This kind of psychosis may not be noticeable to family members since there would often be periods when a new mother may seem fine and also show periodic changes in behavior.

When a new mother is suspected of having a psychosis, most likely, her judgment would be impaired and she shows irrational behavior. In such cases, both the mother and the baby are not safe. Though rare, psychosis should be treated as an emergency. The mother suffering this psychological condition would usually respond to medication. In other cases, the new mother needs to be confined to a hospital or treatment center.

In knowing all these, new mothers should not worry about having postpartum depression. All these disorders can be managed or treated with medication and therapy. With enough information, new mothers and their families can find relief from the depression and stress that comes with the physical, emotional, and hormonal changes that come with childbirth.

How to make the perfect espresso

Surely one espresso maker is much like another, and it doesn’t make a difference how much you spend on one right? Well that depends very much on what you expect from your espresso maker. There are an ever growing number of machines on the market and it may be hard to decide between them. In the coffee industry, buyers rely on word of mouth, trade press and the experiences of their colleagues to determine the best espresso machines to invest in, but if you are simply buying one for your own personal use, there are a few things you might want to consider.

Your main concern will be the coarseness of grind that the espresso maker requires. Some machines have built in grinders which are ideal but a little pricier. These are set to grind the beans to exactly the right consistency for your machine. If you already have a separate grinder, you will need to calibrate this to produce grinds that are the appropriate texture for your espresso maker. It may take you several; attempts to achieve the perfect grind, by which time your head will be spinning from espresso tasting.

If you are buying ready ground coffee, check which is the most suitable for your machine and buy a small amount of a couple of types to be sure to find a good one. Of course if you already have a favourite ready ground coffee, you can buy your espresso maker to match this.

Although espresso makers have an optimum thickness of grinds, a really good machine should be able to work with grains that are a little too coarse or fine. That is one of the benefits of investing in a really high quality machine. Poor quality espresso makers will become jammed with the wrong texture on grinds. However, you should note that using the wrong grinds for your machine can cause a less than perfect taste to your coffee; it might be a little bitter. This is because the water has to be more highly pressurized to get through the coffee and this will result in an inferior end result.

One further consideration when you are buying an espresso machine is the noise it makes. A really high quality machine should not make very much noise, and you should still be able to chat to your friends whilst making that perfect brew, and tell them what an excellent investment your espresso maker was.

Anti aging skin care

Anti aging skin care

One of the most interesting topics on skin care is ‘anti aging skin care’. As one gets older, the natural defence of our skin (and in fact of the whole body) weakens. ‘Anti aging skin care’ is about protecting your skin from the negative effects of aging process. ‘Anti aging skin care’ helps in maintaining a young and fresh look for a longer period of time. However, ‘anti aging skin care’ doesn’t end just here. Besides maintaining your looks (good looks), ‘anti aging skin care’ is also about retaining the resistance to disease. Though the awareness about anti aging has increased over a period of time, still a lot of people are unable to recognize the aging symptoms (and hence are unable to determine if they are in need of additional anti aging skin care measures).

Here is a list of visible anti aging symptoms that will help you in the planning and execution of your strategy for anti aging skin care: baldness, forgetfulness, graying hair, wrinkle formation, loss of eyesight or hearing loss and menopause. The occurrence of one or more such symptoms is an indicator for upping the ante on anti aging skin care. Note that we are talking about introduction of additional measures for anti aging skin care, we are not talking about starting ‘anti aging skin care’ altogether. ‘Anti aging skin care’ actually starts much before the symptoms of anti aging appear. Serious anti aging skin care is building and following a proper skin care routine much earlier in life (say in your teens). Anti aging skin care doesn’t mean adoption of any special skin care procedure but just following a normal procedure in the right earnest. Eating a lot of fruits, avoiding stress, drinking a lot of water and using natural therapies can delay the aging process.

Once the signs of aging start showing up, you should start using some additional measures in the form of anti aging skin care products. The market is full of anti aging skin care products. In fact there are so many anti aging skin care products that they will probably find you even before you find them. Also, with age, the skin undergoes significant change. So you will need to analyse your current skin care procedure to check if it still holds good i. e. if it is still suitable for your skin.

You should remember that aging is a natural process and there is nothing that can stop it from happening. All these anti aging skin measures can just help in delaying the aging process.

Firm guides parents through college savings plans

According to a survey conducted by the New York-based College Board, college tuition costs are rising faster than the pace of inflation. Between 1993 and 2003, for example, the average cost of tuition and fees for four years rose 47 percent at public colleges and 42 percent at private institutions.

Thus, parents should start saving for college as soon as possible, says Stuart Ritter, a certified financial planner at T. Rowe Price, the Baltimore-based investment management and mutual fund firm. One way to do so, he says, is by taking advantage of state-sponsored 529 college savings plans.

These plans are becoming popular as a way to save for college because they provide some of the best tax benefits available, including an exemption from federal income tax on withdrawals made for qualified education expenses, and have high contribution limits to help save for college.

As a result, a 529 plan can potentially provide more money to spend on education than other investment products such as taxable accounts and Uniform Gift to Minor Acts (UGMA) accounts, an alternative way to contribute assets to a minor for investment purposes, says Ritter. An individual or a family can usually contribute more than $200,000 total in a 529 plan.

Currently, all states offer some type of 529 plan, with about half offering incentives to in-state residents. So while it may be practical for some parents to turn to their home states first when considering a plan, families are not limited to their own states' plans. "It could pay to comparison shop," Ritter says, adding that in addition to looking at potential state tax benefits for their contributions, parents should also evaluate the fees, expenses and investment options.

Another tool, the College Savings Comparison Calculator, compares saving for college in a 529 plan with doing so in a UGMA account.

One caveat is that due to provisions in the tax laws, the federal tax exemption for qualified educational expenses expires in 2010 unless extended by Congress. After that time, earnings would be considered income for the beneficiary - usually still beneficial since most 18-year-olds are in a low tax bracket. Also, earnings on a distribution not used for qualified expenses may be subject to income taxes and a 10 percent federal penalty.

Sorting through the array of 529 plans can be overwhelming, but experts say it is important for parents who are hoping to get the maximum return for their savings.

How do we make the perfect coffee

Drive down just about any street in the United States and you will spot people holding coffee cups walking into their place of employment or just on a lazy morning stroll. With specialty coffee shops strategically tucked in our business districts, one would think coffee has always been in the United States, but this ever growing trend is not an original American idea.

It is believed that the first coffee trees were found in Ethiopia. Several urban legends surround the discovery of the coffee bean – the most familiar being a farmer who watched his goats eating the beans, and out of curiosity, ingested one and was impressed with the surge of energy the bean produced - but cannot be substantiated. But what we do know is that coffee beans found its way through the Arabian Peninsula that led to Yemen and Arabia. Yemen was the first area to cultivate the coffee bean. From there, it made its way to Turkey, where coffee beans were first roasted and then crushed and boiled in water, producing a very primitive version of the coffee we drink today.

Trade merchants brought coffee to Europe, and it quickly took off. Coffee houses popped up rampantly, and were the sites of philosophical and other intellectual discussions.

Then, in the 1700’s a French captain brought a tree from Europe to the Americas, and planted it on the Caribbean Island of Martinique. From there, coffee consumption spread like wild fire in Central and South America.

And in the mid-1800’s, Italy put its own spin on coffee by perfecting espresso in their region. France was known for making the first espresso machine, but the Italians found a way to add to the technology. They were the first manufacturers of the now ever popular espresso machine, and espresso remains a significant aspect of their culture today.

America added its own spin to coffee consumption. In the 1970’s, the “coffee revolution” was born in Seattle, WA. At that point, the latte – a coffee and milk beverage - was created, and sought after throughout the United States. This ingenious invention that has American buzzing around their jobs and life helped change the quality of coffee we drink now. It has also begun to quickly spread to other parts of the world – coffee shops and other coffee venues can be seen just about anywhere globally – but Americans are still dubbed the largest consumers of coffee.

Today, coffee is one of the largest world commodities – it falls second to petroleum world-wide. The coffee industry employs over 20 million people, 5 million alone in Brazil. Coffee industry workers cultivate and harvest over 3 billion plants all over the world – which helps support the approximately 400 billion cups of coffee consumed each year. In the United States, the coffee industry pulls in annual revenues of over a billion.

Working out the total cost of a loan

When you are looking for a loan, you need to compare loans by working out the total cost of repaying the loan. Although many web sites allow you to compare the APR costs, working out the real total cost of a loan is a little more complicated. However, it is important that you do this so that you can budget accurately and also so that you can find the best deal for your needs.

Estimating the total cost

The quickest and easiest way to estimate the total cost is to multiply the total amount borrowed by the APR, and then multiply this by the number of years. For example, if you borrow Ј10,000 and the APR is 10% for 5 years, then 10000 times 0.10 times 5 equals Ј5000. This is the interest you will pay, so add this to the total amount borrowed and then you know to borrow Ј10,000 for 5 years at 10% costs you Ј15,000 in total. Of course, this is only an estimate and will be higher than the actual amount as interest payments are reduced as you pay off the amount.

Other costs

There are obviously other costs to add to this total amount, such as loan processing fees, payment protection insurance and any other fees you need to buy to set up the loan. Add these to the total cost mentioned before and you have the total that you need to pay back over the loan term.

TAR

If you are discussing the total cost of the loan with your lender, then ask them to give you the TAR. This stands for Total Amount Repayable, and will let you know the total you have to pay back during the loan term. The difference between the amount borrowed and the TAR will tell you how much the loan is costing. A smaller difference between these two numbers means a better deal for you.

APR

As well as knowing the TAR, you should work out how much you need to repay each month. To do this, divide the TAR by the total loan term in months. For example, if you were paying back Ј14,400 over 12 years, then you will pay back about Ј100 a month (14,400 divided by 144 months). Of course, this is also an estimate as the TAR amount you have calculated is an estimate. To get the exact amount, ask the lender.

Adding penalty costs

When working out the total cost of a loan, you should budget into the equation some penalty fees. Although you might never pay any of these fees, to allow for a few late payments will help you to be prepared in case. It may also help you to decide between two similar loans, depending on the amount they charge for penalties and late fees.

If you are unsure, seek advice

If you are looking for a loan and are still unsure how much you will need to pay back over the whole term, then consult an independent financial advisor, who can help you work out how much you are paying for each loan, and which is the best deal.

If you have big credit card debt are you a complusive debtor

In recent years there has been a growing incidence of consumers carrying hight credit card debt. Many are finding this debt burden difficult to handle, but would rather not examine whether they may be compulsive when it comes to using credit cards. Denial can run deep. Those with heavy debt are reluctant to admit that they may be compulsive and out of control when it comes to managing their money. Facing it is simply too painful.

Probably most people who are finding that substantial credit card debt is proving difficult to manage will not care to dig very deeply into this topic. Such is the nature of denial. We'd prefer simply to ignore any examination of signs that we may be compulsive and out of control around money. It's too painful to contemplate.

Indeed, most who have dysfunctional and compulsive tendencies when it comes to money will not begin to look closely at their debting behavior until it reaches crisis proportions. Only then, as panic begins to take over, will a degree of willingness to examine one's relationship to money, personal finances and debt begin to creep in.

Often, the first impulse when a personal financial crisis erupts is to blame others and assume the role of a victim. Obviously, this offers no solution, and probably will compound the dilemma. Next, some willingness to seek debt help may occur, and the debtor then looks at the possibilities of borrowing from family or friends, thus dragging others into the problem who don't deserve it.

If that fails to work, alternatives such as debt consolidation, refinancing a mortgage and even bankruptcy are considered. These measures can reduce debt and provide some relief, but always fail to address an underlying problem of compulsive debting.

If you find yourself in this situation, there are a number of clear signs that you may be a compulsive debtor. Here are a few questions you might ask yourself:

1. Is it difficult for you to pass up buying something on credit because it's a really good deal?

2. Does having the ability to whip out a credit card for purchases give you an ego boost, a feeling of being accepted, like being grown up or a member of a privileged club?

3. Are you using one credit card to pay off another?

4. Do you bounce checks from time to time?

5. Are you having problems meeting just ordinary personal expenses, and do you get a feeling of accomplishment when these obligations are satisfied?

6. Do you live in drama and chaos when it comes to money, continually having a crisis to deal with?

7. Are you vague about your personal finances, not being clear about how much you owe, your monthly expenses, interest rates and the like?

There are a number of other indicators, but, if you answered several of these questions affirmatively, then you may be a compulsive debtor. Debt relief will evade you until you get a grip on the belief systems and behavior underlying your money problems. Credit counseling is probably in order, and you might benefit from a spiritual program such as Debtors Anonymous.

Better approach for bigger results

Two scenes of beauty and happiness, side by side on the television. Flip: a preview of the latest hot model of cards for 2006. Flip: the most recent addition to the fully high-tech camera phones. Flip: an ad of the latest hot perfume for men. Flip: a new commercial of one of the flourishing fast food chain in the country. Flip: a preview of what will happen next week on the longest running soap opera.

A few hours of television each day and a few flips of the remote can get you to see hundreds of commercial and advertisements. The television has been an effective tool for modern day advertising. But not all business owners can afford the cost of television advertising so they stick to the conventional method of paper and ink marketing.

Catalogs are one way of getting your products recognized in the market. Most customers would ask for a catalog before purchasing so if you have one in hand you can easily address your customers needs. When mailing your catalogs it is important that you comprehend everything you can about your customers and prospects. You must obtain their demographic, psychographic and statistical data and use that information to better address your marketing efforts to develop the business. Likewise, as many people are mobile these days it is important to keep an updated list of contact information to make sure that they receive your catalog. You need also to make certain that every prospect effort and every customer contact is better than the last.

Front covers also play an important role in the success of a catalog. They serve as the gateway into your catalog, hence, it is essential that the cover must encourage prospects to open the door and step through the amazing world inside. If you want to use paintings in your front cover ask yourself first, do the paintings showcase your products? Does it tell the reader what you sell without having to open the catalog? Is your brand name easily recognized? If your answer is yes, then a painting on the front cover can be a good idea. Keep in mind though that even if some people loved your painting cover, others would not be motivated by the artwork to turn the cover and buy. Also, remember that the unconscious mind is not necessarily rational but it is pretty influential. So avoid catalog designs that would make your audience unconsciously think that the product is not right for them.

So even if high-tech advertising is flourishing, the conventional marketing method is still one of the most reliable and profitable manner of promoting a business. Thus, the marketing ability of catalogs should never be underestimated.

What is an essential fat

You may have heard that essential fats are an important aspect to maintaining the health of your body. But what exactly are they?

Basically, there are two truly essential fatty acids, Linoleic and Linolenic. You may have heard of these referred to as Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids.

So, why are they called essential? The term essential in the life sciences refers to the fact that a nutrient cannot be synthesized by the body. Thus, you must have a dietary or supplemental source to supply your need for these acids.

You probably heard of the 8 essential amino acids. It's the same idea here but in this case we are referring to fatty acids rather than an amino acid.

These fatty acids exist in and are used in every cell of your body. So they are crucial to a cell's health and therefore to our health as people. The good news is that in North America, you generally get enough Omega -6 in your diet. Omega-3 has presented a question mark to researchers. Are we getting enough or not?

Fortunately, you can get Omega-3 from fish and certain nut oils. If you have any doubt at all, you can get Omega three from flax oil, which is in abundant supply at your local health food store.

Don't let the phrase essential fat or essential fatty acid fool you. These are not going to make you gain unwanted weight.

As those of us who truly understand weight loss and gain can tell you, the key to losing or gaining fat storage from your body centers around the bodies short term energy storage supply.

Income tax returns your accountant should not file

You've been feeling uneasy (perhaps even guilty) because you've failed to report your under the table business income. Perhaps you've never filed a tax return, even though you know you owe money. Finally, you contact an accountant to resolve the situation.

Although it is commendable that you are trying to correct matters, hiring an accountant to do these delinquent returns could be a big mistake. The reason why is because tax evasion is a criminal offence or felony. You might also be subject to civil action.

Would you hire an accountant to defend you in a criminal proceeding? Not likely. You would be wise to hire a qualified attorney.

First of all, lawyers have something called solicitor-client privilege (also known as attorney-client privilege or legal advice privilege). This basically means that things you tell your lawyer when seeking legal advice are confidential and can't be used against you. Even written records can be covered by this privilege.

On the other hand, your accountant can be compelled to testify against you and all records in his possession can be demanded by the authorities.

Second, your lawyer can prepare a legally binding agreement that can protect you. In return for your coming clean, the tax authorities may agree not to charge you criminally and, in some cases, even reduce penalties or tax liability.

If your accountant tried to do the same thing, they could demand all information about you. Your accountant would not be protected by solicitor-client privilege.

If, say, your accountant filed your tax return from ten years ago on your behalf, the tax authorities could still charge you with tax evasion, despite the fact that you are obviously trying to rectify matters (albeit a bit late).

It is even possible that your accountant could get into trouble for failing to report your delinquency. On the other hand, your lawyer can't be compelled to testify against you, being protected by solicitor-client privilege. Your lawyer may also have his own in-house accountant in order to protect you.

Your lawyer (specializing in criminal and tax law) will likely negotiate an agreement with the tax authorities before filing any tax returns.

Therefore, if there is a good chance you could be charged criminally for your failure to file tax returns or properly report income or expenses, don't see your accountant. Instead, consult a lawyer specializing in such matters before you file or amend any returns.

Lighting tips for feature films

Lighting Tips for Feature Films

While the budget of a major movie director would certainly be nice to work with it is necessary to start looking at things from a very different angle at times. If you have a limited budget, you are working against many of the ideas that tend to circulate about the need for highly advanced equipment. However at the same time, there are ways you can get professional or near professional results for a fraction of the cost of professional equipment and lighting is one of the best places you can save money.

It is extremely important to understand that proper professional lights can easily cost between $200 to as much as $1,000 for each light. This is a price range that most people simply cannot afford for a hobby, much less is it possible to afford this while still ensuring that not all of the other areas of your budget suffer. One of the best things that you can do is look for comparable lighting that will provide very similar results for only a fraction of the price. One of the best examples is a light tree, and the use of halogen lights.

These lights can frequently be purchased for less than $40 each and when combined with a $20 light tree you can easily create a comparable light source. Each halogen light can typically produce 500 watts of light, which would require the use of two halogen lights to create the 1,000 watts of power that each key light will typically offer. This can free up your budget substantially for other areas. One important consideration though is exactly what you are trying to light up.

If you are just trying to light up people in natural daylight the usage of additional lighting will be minimum. If you are trying to light up a room that is completely dark, you are going to have more trouble. The benefit with this is that you are able to adjust the light to your specific needs without a great amount of difficulty, however it is critical that you take the time to carefully study different lighting options both behind and in front of the camera to decide what lighting source you like the absolute best.

If you discover that the usage of 500-watt halogen lights is too strong for the scene you are filming it is quite easy to decreasing the lighting. Either you can angle the lights to focus on a different area, or alternatively you could look at even changing the bulbs in the lamps to a lower wattage. Either method will typically suffice, but it is important to ensure if you angel the lights a different direction you are not creating unwanted shadows. Many filmmakers who are just starting to make feature films find that they have problems with unwanted shadows, which are a result of poorly aimed lights. Continuously watching the footage that you are shooting and making periodic checks can help you to combat this problem.

If you find that you really need a bounce card to properly light up your scenes, you have a couple of ideas that are both reasonable. You can either choose to purchase a premade professional quality bounce card, or you can go to your local fabric or craft store and purchase a large piece of white styrophome which can be used quite easily and for a very inexpensive price. As you can see, getting professional quality lights does not have to cost a fortune. While you may want to start saving money to buy the professional equipment it is best to try to handle working the price into your budget slowly and using different pieces of equipment until it is an affordable option.

Quality does not have to be sacrificed in the pursuit of affordability though. Many filmmakers have worked with budgets that were less than stellar. Simply getting out and making films will take some practice but the experience that you gain using alternative equipment can help you to grow as a filmmaker, which will be very helpful in your experience as you grow in the future.

How not to make money online or anywhere else

Here are a few tips on how _not_ to make money, and underneath each one, the smart thing to do instead.

1. Follow The Herd.

By the time you hear about it, it'll probably have peaked. The time to grab a niche is looking around you, seeing what people are looking for, and giving it to them, fast. Not recommended: Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), Internet Marketing, eBooks, Paid-To-Surf and High Yield Investment Programs (HYIP). These will all make money for the guys running the show, not you.

Do your own research. Internet forums are full of the past, not the future. You can learn your trade, but not the latest wheeze. You think if someone's got a really sweet idea they'll blab it in a forum? Only if they're vain or stupid. Or they've already made their bit, the idea is washed out, so they make one last profit by getting the newbies excited about it.

By the time you hear about it the herd will have spammed the hell out of it.

2. Not Following The Herd.

Sometimes the herd is heading over a cliff. Sometimes it's heading to green pastures. You can't start a revolution on your own; it's too much hard work. So find something there's already a demand for, and set up a stall offering it cheaper, faster or better. Or all three!

Tip: Exhaust internet research before starting your new career. It's likely someone has already done what you're thinking of, at least in part. Maybe you can walk the trail they blazed, rather than hacking your own?

3. Do Something You Dislike.

You can't put your heart in a job you dislike. You'll find you can't summon the energy. The ol' inspiration doesn't flow. Why? McJobs turn your brain to hamburger. Your subconscious (your heart) will not supply the energy to do something it's against, even if the head says 'go!'.

Solution: Take the time to find something you truly enjoy: your vocation.

4. Do Something Which Doesn't Pay Well.

Just getting by means you'll go broke someday: one bit of bad luck, then bam!

Plenty of jobs out there which pay _just_ enough to survive on. That's how capitalists get rich; _they_ make the profits, _you_ do the legwork. And that's as it should be. You want the big bucks? Be a super salesman, or an entrepreneur; they take all the risks, so it's only right they get the gravy.

Like all employees I disliked and feared my boss; he had real power over me. Then when I became my own boss, I understood him perfectly. He didn't care about my little problems. He didn't owe me anything beyond my wages and a civil word. He was largely oblivious to my mutinous grumbling. All he wanted was for me to come in on time, do the work, and clear off at the end of the day. He set the business up, so he deserved the lion's share. He had to worry about keeping the whole place going.

If you were a boss, and it was your money, just how generous would you be to your employees? Oh yeah, suuuure! And I bet you're a big tipper too!

Solution: If you want to work for someone else, and be happy, find a job that pays well. Easy!

5. Do Something You're Not Good At.

It's easy to be mediocre at a wide range of jobs. To be a master takes years, sometimes a lifetime.

Solution: You _know_ you've got a knack for _something_. If it's something you like, which can pay well, _and which you're good at_, consider doing _it_ rather than fuming in your cubicle. At the very least you'll enjoy the ride!

If you're not sure, find a fat list of job titles somewhere and skim through it: who knew that jobs like chicken-sexer or house-sitter existed?

Testing electronic systems duts

Electronic test equipment, commonly called testgear, is equipment that is used to create stimulating signals and capture the responses from electronic devices under test. These devices are knowns as DUTS, Devices Under Test. Given this controls it is possible to prove the proper operation of a device through these tests, and deem them as being needed of repair or not.

Electronic test equipment is an essential element to any major electronics system. Ranging from a simple light bulb to expense and even automated tasks, electronic test equipment covers a very large range. In general it can be said that when developing electronic systems that more advanced equipment is needed opposed to when doing routine production testing on existing systems in the field. This rule is not always however true, because every system is different.

Some examples of test equipment are: Ammeter, Voltmeter (Measures voltage), Multimeter (Measures all of the above), Oscilloscope (Measures all of the above as they change over time), Frequency counter (Measures frequency).

In the past, it used to be that tests would have to be initiated by some type of man given command, through a controller or other. With the level of technology present today, the majority of testing is done automatically through the use of computers, either continuously or at given increments. This automation of testing greatly led to an increase in production and in reliability of electronic systems as they almost have the ability to monitor themselves and know when something is going wrong.

Home and contents insurance. poor maintenance can invalidate your cover

Most home and contents insurance claims proceed smoothly, except perhaps for occasional disagreements about how much something was worth. But another re-occurring difficulty is where damage is due to poor building maintenance. The homeowner has a duty of care and the insurers take a dim view of claims that the homeowner could, and should have, avoided. AS a result insurers may scale down or even reject your claim.

To avoid such problems you should give your house an annual Maintenance MOT. A springtime check would be good. By carrying out just a few simple checks, it should be possible to find problems at an early stage.

Rain, wind, snow and frost place some of the biggest day-to-day strains on the structure of your home. Consequently, most homes develop a few problems in the autumn and winter months, so a springtime check can save much time and expense further down the line.

It's not as if you'll be paying money that you could claim later on an insurance claim. Indeed, any costs you claim that were really a maintenance issue, will be rejected by your insurance company.

Here's our 10 point springtime MOT for your home:

• Clean out the gutters. Autumn can be especially hard on gutters as lots of debris can accumulate. That must be removed. Blocked gutters and down spouts can quickly cause enormous damage if water is left to overflow and penetrate the structure. But please be careful with this job. Working up ladders is dangerous so why not get your window cleaner to do the job!

• Now get your binoculars out and check the roof. Search for cracked, loose or slipped tiles. A leaking roof can result in costly damage. Ceiling damage, rot, redecoration can quickly swallow up money. Then there's the a safety issue. If a tile slips off, someone could be badly injured. Even your car could take a direct hit!

• Check out your exterior paintwork. Any cracked, peeling, or blistered paintwork needs attention. Touch it up to preserve the wood from damage. Summer time can be surprisingly hard on paintwork. High temperatures and big temperature changes create expansion and contraction cracks ready to let in the following winter to do its worst.

• If you've heavily used an open fire during the winter, get the chimney swept. Heavy build-ups of soot can easily catch fire and during the summer the soot absorbs damp.

• Take a walk around the house and make sure that nothing is covering over the damp course. Pilled up garden rubbish is the most common offender. Grass cuttings are not your home's best friend! If damp gets past the damp course your walls inside will get damp resulting in damaged to plasterwork decoration. Over time, rot will set in.

• When you are planting shrubs and trees you need to ensure that their roots are not going to cause future damage. If roots penetrate your drains or get into your foundations you're in for horrendous bills. Willow and Popular trees are some of the worst offenders. Are you aware that you shouldn't have a Popular tree within 150 feet of your property? If a new house is built within this distance, it has to have specially reinforced foundations!

• Whilst on the subject of trees, you probably think that your buildings insurance will cover damage caused by falling trees. Yes they will - if the tree was well maintained. But what happens if the tree was rotten or already damaged? Yep, you've guessed it, that's a maintenance issue. You're liable! Unless you can show that you took reasonable care of the trees, the insurer can refuse any subsequent claim. If have big trees you could have big problems. You are advised to get an annual report from a tree surgeon detailing any work that is needed – and don't forget to carry it out and keep the paperwork! Such action demonstrates that you have taken due care and therefore, any related claim will be accepted.

• Do you have any climbing plants on the house? Check out that they haven't caused damage to your brickwork or render. Ivy is the biggest offender. And never let climbing plants get onto your roof – that's a recipe for disaster!

• Now go inside your house. Remember to have your central heating boiler serviced – it's been a hard winter! And get its carbon monoxide emissions checked. Whilst the engineer's there, also get him to give your radiators the once over.

• Finally, up into the loft. Check for signs of leaks and rodent damage to the wiring. Squirrels love warm lofts and they love the insulation around wiring! The fire brigade hate squirrels! And a dirty job. Whilst you there, remove any old bird or wasp nests and block up the openings.

Take these steps and you're unlikely to run into a problem with any structural insurance claim. Your home will also love you!
